Bone Dry Solar

I love my solar array and storage battery. Inevitably I am the one with lights on despite storms darkening the homes surrounding me. When a storm took the grid down for several days, I still had power, because the system anticipated the storm and topped off from the grid before the loss of power. As the storms seem to be increasing, I am delighted that I have power! And, although net metering is not an option, I have not paid for any electricity from the grid since my system was installed. Whole Sun, now a part of Bone Dry, gave me the estimate I was looking for that included a storage battery. They worked with me to find a reasonable solution to placement when Indiana Landmarks would not let me place the panels where they would be visible from the street. They communicated with me, when there were scheduling or weather issues that altered the estimated installation. They worked efficiently and effectively. When my Tesla Powerwall stopped connecting and giving me data, the boss was Johnny-on-the-spot to interface with Tesla to correct the problem. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. If I could give at least a dozen stars, I would!

I scheduled a meeting with their sales rep and got a very thorough and in depth explanation from the company's top guy. It seems like they really know what they're doing. The sales rep was nice and willing to answer all of my questions as well throughout the process. Solar is not right for us at this time, but if we decide to in the future, I will definitely consider Bone Dry Solar.

Responding to Gene Judd's request for review. Replaced roof, added insulation, and installed solar all at same time in attempt to minimize roof disruption. I discussed that teams would need to coordinate in order to maintain roof integrity and minimize home exterior disruption. Had to move exhausts to maximize space for solar panels. Solar team moved pipes but didn't meet roofing team standards. Had to reinstall. Insulation team installed insulation without checking with solar team's requirements for running conduit. Solar team then didn't want to penetrate insulation. So I was stuck with ugly conduit on side of home. Solar team installed tracks, then found out that solar panels were 2 inches bigger than calculated by Bone Dry engineers. So had to reduce size of installation, which reduces the economic value of the system. Inverters were not working yesterday. Today, Tesla inverters popped 5-6 times with firecracker sounds. Early 4th of July! We're waiting for Tesla to troubleshoot the problems. So, Mr. Judd, I would not use Bone Dry again. Future customers, be prepared to micromanage and Karen the installation. Let's see what the Bone Dry installation guarantee and Owens Corning warranty is worth.

We purchased a home that needed a new roof but had an existing solar panel system that we wanted to keep. We used RCV Roofing in Bloomington for the roof replacement, and as part of the Bone Dry family, they referred us to Bone Dry Solar to remove and reinstall the panels. We had a large system but they were able to remove the system in half a day, and then reinstall on the new roof in one day. Jay was friendly and helpful throughout the process. The system came back on line immediately with no performance issues. We’re very happy with the job.
