Really happy with the technology and service

Really happy with the great technology from REC. They have the best panel on the market and their 25+year history in the solar industry is really important to me.

Not as reliable as I thought

1 panel had to be replaced and production doesn't seem aany better than the neighbor's even though the spec sheet on REC are better.

Service Level on e-mail inquiry atrocious

Send an e-mail with a basic question to the EMEA office, relating to their Alpha Pure-R series. over 3 days later 0 response. No automated acknowledgement, no update that eg due to "xyz " replies to inquiries might take longer. I hope the modules will perform better when they get installed tomorrow..... BTW send a similar e-mail with a question to CSI (EMEA office in Munich) about their HiHero modules. Had a response and answer within 24 hours. Rating value and quality with 3 as the modules are not installed yet....

Awesome responsiveness

I was looking into using REC Alpha Pure panels for my project and my installer was not an REC certified professional. I reached out to REC and they were very responsive and helped expedite the certification process for my installer, so my project would be protected by the full 25 yr warranty. I’m very happy with how the panels look and how the entire project was completed. Thanks for listening to your potential customer and winning my business.

I must be the exception??

My REC solar panel system was installed in September 2023. 48 REC 405w Alpha Pure panels. In late October one of the panels dropped to 60% production compared to the surrounding panels. In November, same happened to another panel. Troubleshooting by the installer and Enphase showed the panel is the issue and I am awaiting replacements. So much for a 1 in 10,000 failure rate.

Quality product. Delayed warranty processes. Great customer service.

(1) My installer wanted to be REC certified before the installation to get me the Pro trust 25 years warranty. He wrote several emails or contacted REC for the certification. It took over 4 months for him to get REC certified. He complained about the delayed response from REC concerned department. After my initial review here, Hannah from REC group reached out to me and things started to move faster. Suggest to improve this process bit faster. (2) I have 30 panels installed. One panel was producing exactly half energy compared to others. This was found to be defective. My installer was able to put in the warranty request and after sending few measurements/pictures, the request was approved. It took almost 6 weeks since initial contact to get the replacement panel delivered. Another 3 weeks for my installer to schedule and complete the job. I had reached out to EnergySage contact person(Abhishek Iyer) and he escalated to REC contact (Melissa) who was able to provide me the status of the warranty and delivery updates very promptly. Great service from both parties. I would suggest to contact EnergySage for any issues with the REC during the project. They have effective contacts who can help right away.
